More than a million people have HIV but they don't know it. Tuesday, the University of Virginia will offer free HIV testing in honor of World Aids Day.
Testing will be held in the hospital's dining conference rooms, and it's completely confidential. You don't even need an appointment.
"It's just like brushing your teeth. You do a swab around your mouth, and in twenty minutes the test is done, and that's it. No sticks, and no blood,' says Pamela Bickley, UVa's HIV Program Coordinator.
Testing is being offered from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 1st.
Patients have to stay in the hospital to receive their test results. The University is also asking people to wear a red ribbon as a symbol of AIDS awareness in the community.
