H1N1 vaccines will be available, by appointment only, at the Charlottesville-Albemarle Health Department for CDC priority groups beginning Monday, December 21.
Interested parties can call 434-972-6299 to schedule an appointment.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, priority groups for the H1N1 vaccination include:
- Children and young adults (6 months through 24 years of age);
- Persons who live with or care for infants younger than 6 months of age;
- Pregnant women;
- Individuals with underlying medical conditions;
- Health care/emergency medical service workers
The health department has injectable vaccine and preservative-free nasal spray vaccine for Monday’s clinic. Appointments are available between 1:30pm and 7:00pm.
