Monday, the State Health Commissioner opened the door for all Virginians to get immunized against H1N1 influenza. With this latest release of vaccine from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, over 3 million doses will have been sent to Virginia.
“Today’s allocation of 700,000 doses of vaccine makes it possible to now offer H1N1 vaccinations to all Virginians,” said State Health Commissioner Karen Remley, M.D., MBA. “Put down on your holiday list making sure your family and loved ones get their vaccinations.”
Over 3,000 physician offices, pharmacies, big box stores, clinics, and health departments are registered in the state as H1N1 vaccinators. To find vaccination sites serving the public, use the Vaccine Flu Locator tool on the .
Information for the public is also available from the Virginia Department of Health Inquiry Center toll free weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 1-877-ASK-VDH3.
