ACCA Shriners within the Piedmont Shrine Club will sponsor a free hospital screening clinic in Charlottesville on July 31.
The purpose of this clinic, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., is to identify children under the age of 18 with orthopedic or burn problems who may be eligible for treatment at Shriners Hospitals at no cost to the family.
Shriners throughout Virginia are sponsoring children at the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children in Greenville, S.C.; Philadelphia, Pa.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Boston, Mass.; and Montreal, Canada. Across North America, Shriners has 19 orthopedic hospitals and three burn centers, which treat thousands of children from infancy to age 18 years.
On the day of the clinic, officials will have people on hand to evaluate children. The applications from these children are forwarded to one of our Shrine Hospitals. After review by the hospital, those children who are accepted at the hospitals will receive care at no cost to the family. Lodging and transportation, if needed, to and from our hospitals will be paid for by ACCA Shrine’s Hospital Transportation Fund.
