The UVa Medical Center is getting into the holiday spirit all while raising money to help patients.
The UVa Hospital Auxiliary is putting on the annual Lights of Love tree lighting ceremony at the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center.
Each ornament purchased will benefit several auxiliary projects like the Hospitality House which provides a low-cost place to stay for out-of-town families as well as flowers for patients, pet therapy and music therapy programs.
“I think the hospital can give us the best doctors and nurses there are, but it's kind of the warm and fuzzy things that the Auxiliary is able to do in enhancing patient care and our mission is to support the hospital and our patients and their families,” said Jane McLaughlin, President, UVa Hospital Auxiliary.
Lights of Love is in its 29th year. This year, the Hospital Auxiliary is hoping to raise $10,000 with this project.
