East Rio Road in Albemarle County was closed Sunday to allow power crews access to downed electric lines.
Albemarle County spokesperson Lee Catlin originally said the road would be closed for as long as six hours, meaning it wouldn't re-open until about 4 p.m., but in a late afternoon phone call to the Newsplex, Catlin said Rio Road wouldn't re-open until at least 10 p.m. Sunday.
Catlin said the road was closed between Melbourne and the Dunlora subdivision. Residents of Dunlora were without power for hours after the storm that ended Saturday brought down electric lines in the area.
