Agriculture and law enforcement are uniting forces to take on the troubling prospect of terrorism directed at America's food supply.
The Virginia Agroterrorism Conference is scheduled for Tuesday at Blue Ridge Community in Weyers Cave. The one-day conference is intended to inform law enforcement officials and the agricultural community on a possible terrorist act aimed at farming, and how federal agencies would respond.
Other aspects of agriculture, such as dairy and food processing, will also be discussed.
The conference is sponsored by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the FBI and the Virginia Poultry Federation, based in Harrisonburg.
