Barack Obama says Governor Tim Kaine would be on his short list for a role in his administration.
In a Monday interview on WRVA radio in Richmond, the Illinois senator said Kaine was "as fine a public servant as we have in this country" and "somebody who is on my short list to have a role in my administration." He did not specify what slot Kaine might fill.
Obama is in a close race for convention delegates with Hillary Clinton with key primaries Tuesday in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
Kaine has said repeatedly he intends to serve out his term as governor, which expires in January 2010.
