McCain Touts Plan to Create Jobs, Help Workers

July 7, 2008

John McCain will be talking up his ideas for improving the economy when he hosts a town hall meeting in Denver on Monday.

McCain will argue he can best reverse an economy that's shed more than 400,000 jobs since December. He's also going to propose doubling the child deduction for every dependent to $7,000.

The list of previously announced proposals he'll underscore
includes cutting taxes, encouraging free trade and building nuclear power plants. McCain says the 45 new plants he wants would mean 700,000 jobs.
