On Wednesday, Virginia's 5th District Congressional candidate Virgil Goode (R) announced that his campaign out-raised Tom Perriello (D) for the second quarter.
From April 1st to June 20th, the Goode for Congress campaign says they raised $390,575, while the Perriello for Congress campaign raised $312,000
Goode’s fundraising total so far is $834,000, while Perriello’s total is $520,000.
Goode also said in a press release that the Perriello campaign has set records for most out-of-state funds raised.
Perriello's campaign also announced that Democratic challenger Tom Perriello has continued to outraise incumbent Rep. Virgil Goode. The campaign says Perriello broke Democratic fundraising records for the fourth straight quarter in the race for the fifth congressional district.
In the second quarter, the Perriello campaign announced in a press release that they had raised $313,000. With donations from every county and municipality in the district, Perriello said he has raised over $920,000 this election cycle.
Perriello said that almost 25% of Rep. Goode's fundraising this cycle came from political action committees.
Perriello's campaign announced that with 111 days until Election Day, their campaign has already raised more than any previous Democratic challenger to Rep. Goode.
