WARREN, Ohio (AP) - John McCain has a new television ad asserting he is the right leader to keep Americans' savings safe in the future.
He promises to meet the financial crisis "head on" and says he won't tolerate a system that puts families at risk.
The ad was taped in Florida Tuesday and released Wednesday morning
as McCain seeks to grab the high ground on the subject after this week's bad news on Wall Street.
Barack Obama is airing a two-minute commercial across the country Wednesday night. He'll use it to talk about the struggles many American families are facing these days.
Obama recites his now-familiar proposals for tax cuts for middle-class Americans, tougher regulation of the financial industry and an initiative to end America's dependence on Mideast oil within 10 years.
The ad was filmed one day after the stock market plunged more than 500 points.
