A second person is preparing to announce intentions to enter the sheriff's race in Fluvanna County.

Mark Belew, a lifelong resident of Fluvanna County, will make a formal announcement on Tuesday. Belew has 15 years' experience in law enforcement.

So far, he will join interim sheriff Eric Hess in the special election this November.

The election comes as former sheriff Ryant Washington left his post earlier this month to work for Gov. Terry McAuliffe in Richmond.
