In the race for Virginia's fifth congressional district, Democratic candidate Tom Perriello is calling on incumbent Virgil Goode to face him in another debate.
Perriello says Goode backed out of a scheduled debate Tuesday night.
No word Wednesday morning on the status of the debate from the Goode campaign.
The Democrats say a debate is the best way to let the voters know both candidates' policies. They want Tom Periello to face off at some point the Republican.
"No one can get across a serious economic plan in 30 seconds," said Tom Perriello (D). "We can not continue to have our public debates play out through 30 second spots."
Perriello is seen as an underdog in the race against the incumbent Virgil Goode.
