Fifth district congressional hopeful Tom Perriello lands a big endorsement from one of Virginia's U.S. Senators.
Virginia Senator Jim Webb endorsed the Democrat at the Elks Lodge in Charlottesville Friday morning to a crowd of supporters, many of whom are veterans.
A major theme of Webb's endorsement was his belief that Perriello will best represent veterans in Congress due to Perriello's experience working in Afghanistan.
"My experience in Afghanistan and other conflict zones could be crucial in Congress to help us really solve the crisis in Iraq and Afghanistan," pointed out Perriello, (D) Congressional Candidate. "I can't do it alone obviously, but I want to be one voice that's been out there and seen those experiences."
Perriello is running against incumbent Virgil Goode in the fifth district. He still trails the Republican by a substantial margin, but is gaining ground.
