Presidential Hopeful Barack Obama to Hold Rally in Roanoke Friday

Sen. Barack Obama will hold a "Change We Need Rally" in Roanoke at the Roanoke Civic Center Coliseum on Friday, October 17.

The trip will mark Obama’s seventh trip to Virginia since the end of the primaries.

Virginia Senator Jim Webb will attend the rally with Obama. In Roanoke, Sen. Obama will focus on the economy, discussing his plans to cut taxes for middle class families, create jobs and end tax breaks for corporations that ship jobs overseas and bring a responsible end to the Iraq war.

The event is free and open to the public, but an RSVP is recommended by visiting Barack's Virginia site

Doors open at 10:00 am, and the program begins at 12:30 pm.

Obama is visiting Roanoke less than a week after former President Bill Clinton stumped for Obama in Roanoke last Sunday.
