Election results may not be certified yet, but Democrat Tom Perriello is choosing his Transition Team.
Perriello announced the first members of his transition advisory committee on Friday. These local leaders will advise Perriello as he transitions into his new role in representing the fifth district of Virginia.
Perriello's camp said the committee will continue to add members to represent the broad range of interests of the district.
"With the scope of the challenges facing the fifth district, we don't have any time to lose in getting to work," said Tom Perriello in a written statement. "I look forward to sitting down with local leaders from all over the district to get their suggestions as I prepare to fight for jobs and economic relief in Washington."
The following is a list in progress of Perriello's Transition Advisory Committee:
Chair: L.F. Payne, former Congressman, fifth district of Virginia
Beverly Brewer, former City Manager, director of Brunswick County Department of Social Services
Rev. Larry Campbell, Jr., member of Danville City Council
Hank Davis, member of Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors and attorney in Chatham
