Charlottesville Democratic Party to Hold First Caucus May 9

The Charlottesville City Democratic Party will hold its first un-assembled caucus, also known as a firehouse primary, on May 9. Voters will be choosing candidates for local offices in November's General Election.

Voters will be nominating two candidates for City Council and one candidate for City Sheriff, Treasurer, Commissioner of Revenue, and Commonwealth's Attorney.

The polls will open at 9:00 am and close at 7:00 pm at Burley Middle School on Rose Hill Drive in Charlottesville. There will also be two absentee voting periods before the May 9 caucus.

Candidates must file to run by 5:00 PM on March 27.
