(AP) - Democratic gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds campaign says the state senator rear-ended another car on his drive home from a weekend rally.
Deeds was not hurt in the crash around 6:10 p.m. Saturday in Louisa County.
The campaign said two passengers in the vehicle he struck were treated and released at a Charlottesville-area hospital.
The campaign said Deeds was driving home to Bath County with no passengers in his vehicle after an event in Fredericksburg when the crash occurred on State Route 22 between Mineral and Louisa.
Brooke Borkenhagen, press secretary for the campaign, said the Louisa County Sheriff's Department cited Deeds for following too close and that he will pay a $30 fine.
