A lot of people are already looking ahead to this fall's elections. Congressman Tom Perriello was in Charlottesville Sunday afternoon, hosting a straw poll for Governor and Lieutenant Governor candidates.

Creigh Deeds won the most votes for Governor, while Mike Signer won the most votes for Lieutenant Governor.

Sunday's straw poll had no bearing on who the Democratic Party will pick, but it could provide an indicator of where support lies. Perriello says he's not endorsing anyone until after June's Democratic primary. '

"I'm going to let voters decide that one here in the primary, but we do have a great field, and great candidates in this area, so we're excited to see how the process plays out," says Perriello.

The proceeds from the straw poll go toward Perriello's 2009 Summer Internship Program. An effort he hopes will get more young people involved in politics.
