Local Businessman is Running for Supervisor Seat

A local businessman is adding his name to the race for the Samuel Miller District Seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors.

A local businessman is adding his name to the race for the Samuel Miller District Seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors.

Born and raised in Charlottesville, Duane Snow announced his intent to run for the Republican Party's nomination Thursday. Snow was CEO and President of Snow's Landscape Garden Center for 35 years. Snow says he'd offer a "common sense" approach to some of the area's problems.

"In the county and in government in general, decisions are made without common sense, so that's what I hope to do. Re-insert common sense into the decisions that are made," says Duane Snow, (R) Supervisor Candidate.

Incumbent supervisor Sally Thomas announced her retirement in April.

Snow will compete next Saturday against fellow Republican Phil Melita for his party's nomination.
