At their mass meeting Tuesday night, Albemarle County Republicans chose Rodney Thomas and Duane Snow as their picks to represent the GOP in this fall's Rio and Samuel Miller district Board of Supervisors races.
Thomas, the former Chairman of the Albemarle County Planning Commission, ran unopposed for the nomination. He'll face Democrat David Slutzky, the current Board of Supervisors Chairman, for the Rio seat in November.
Snow, a longtime businessman in the area, beat out fellow Republican Phil Melita for the nomination in the Samuel Miller district. Snow will face Democrat Madison Cummings and Independent John Lowry in the race to replace the retiring Sally Thomas.
