Former Republican Governor Endorses Deeds

September 30, 2009

In campaign '09 news, Democratic candidate for governor Creigh Deeds has picked up the endorsement of a former Republican governor, Linwood Holton. Holton says he is throwing his support behind Deeds.

At an appearance with the candidate in Arlington, Va. Tuesday, Holton said Republican candidate Bob McDonnell's transportation plan is unrealistic.

Holton, who is governor Kaine's father-in-law, has previously endorsed other Democrats, including Kaine and President Barack Obama.
