Former City Councilor Endorses Kristen Szakos

October 19, 2009

As we inch closer to election day, rallies and gatherings are popping up more and more around Charlottesville and Albemarle County. Women who say they support Kristen Szakos for Charlottesville City Council rallied on the Downtown Mall Monday.

Several women, including one former city councilor, say the Democrat belongs on City Council.

"We're all the people that are behind Kristen because we know her, we've worked with her over the years, and we know the kind of quality that she has," said former Charlottesville City Councilor, Kendra Hamilton.

If Szakos is elected on November 3, it will be the first time in ten years that the Charlottesville City Council has had more than one woman.
