The head of the Rutherford Institute in Charlottesville has a dubious honor. He's the worst person in the world according to MSNBC talk show host Keith Olbermann. It was part of Olbermann's nightly tongue-in-cheek worst person rankings.
Last week, John Whitehead had urged Congressman Tom Perriello to move his downtown office to a new location that would make it easier for protesters to hold demonstrations.
Olbermann, incorrectly called Whitehead a leader of the local tea-gag protests and suggested he was "too lazy" to carry protest signs on the sidewalk outside Perriello's office.
Whitehead sent out a statement saying he accepts the award with "great humility." That appears to be a tongue-in-cheek statement.
