Fifth district Republican candidate Robert Hurt and Albemarle County Supervisor Ken Boyd used to be political rivals, but Wednesday they met to talk strategy, as Hurt prepares to campaign against incumbent Tom Perriello.
Boyd competed with Hurt and five other hopefuls for the fifth district Republican nomination. Hurt and Boyd stopped by the Albemarle County GOP headquarters Wednesday afternoon to talk to supporters.
Hurt also address a recent poll from WDBJ in Roanoke that shows him with a large lead over Tom Perriello.
"We were pleased to see those numbers, but I think it's important to note that it's very early. And I think that everyone knows that the only poll that matters is the one on November 2," said Hurt.
Thursday, Hurt will meet with the Jefferson Area Tea Party, who have been critical of his stand against debating independent candidate Jeff Clark.
