Albemarle County supervisors will vote Wednesday whether to spend $5,000 on a trip to Austin, Texas.
The goal is to learn from Austin's successes in the music and festival scene.
Supervisor Ann Mallek says she isn't sure the trip is the best way for the county to be spending money.
"$5,000 is a lot of money," Mallek said. "I want to make sure we are going to be learning something that is appropriate for us."
Representatives from Charlottesville are also considering the trip, at an additional cost of $4,000.
