Among the delegates in Tampa for the Republican National Convention is Albemarle County supervisor Ken Boyd, who will cast a vote for the Republican nomination on Tuesday.
Boyd is one of 2,200 delegates casting the vote. Roll call will take place Tuesday evening.
"I've had a chance to talk to people from Rhode Island to Maryland to Texas to Oregon to Illinois, and everybody is just so excited about this ticket and very excited to go back to their individual states and work very hard to get them elected," Boyd said.
Boyd said much of the excitement surrounds presumptive nominee Mitt Romney's choice for vice president, U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan.
"Paul Ryan is just an excellent choice for Mitt Romney to pick, and everybody I talk to is really excited about that," Boyd said. "They're really excited for the opportunity to put these two people in the White House."
The RNC runs through Thursday.
