Democratic candidates for city council Kristin Szakos and Bob Fenwick announce their plans for investments to support Charlottesville and its residents.
The candidates released a five-point agenda on Monday. They want to better the city's transportation system, increase collaboration with Albemarle County and the University of Virginia, and increase affordable housing.
Szakos and Fenwick also want to make an investment in area children, creating stable funding for city schools, and providing free public preschool to at-risk kids.
"The youth and the children, that's the future of our community," said Fenwick. "If we want to attract new businesses to our community, that's one of the primary things that the families in those businesses look for. They look for quality of life and look for a good business atmosphere."
Szakos and Fenwick are both running for seats on Charlottesville City Council.
Election Day is November 5th.
