Circuit Court Clerk Paul Garrett spent Saturday night meeting supporters as he seeks another eight-year term in office.
Garrett hosted the reception Saturday at the Holiday Inn on Emmet Street. It was a chance for the community to come out and learn a little more about his campaign.
He's spent more than 30 years on the job, most recently working to make the Charlottesville Circuit Court a paperless system.
"I have the experience for the job," Garrett said. "I want to treat everybody with equality and dignity."
The Democratic firehouse primary is scheduled for Aug. 20 at Burley Middle School. Garrett is being challenged by Albemarle County deputy clerk Pam Melampy and assistant public defender Llezelle Dugger.
