Saturday afternoons on the Downtown Mall are about to get more political.
Independent city council candidate Bob Fenwick held the first of his weekly Fenwick Forums. Every week, he'll tackle a different issue relating to the city. Saturday's topic was "City and County Relations: Honeymoon or Divorce Court?"
Fenwick says these forums help citizens discuss important city issues like the water supply plan or the Meadow Creek Parkway in a more open setting and all off-the-cuff.
"It's more comfortable out here, it's very informal," Fenwick said. "It's not like going before city council or the county board of supervisors and standing up for a couple minutes with sort of a formal statement."
Fenwick will host his forum every Saturday at the Free Speech Monument at 12:30 p.m., leading up to the election.
