Democrats to Host Candidate Forum for Charlottesville Clerk of Court

July 10, 2011

Charlottesville and Albemarle Democrats are sponsoring a candidate forum next weekend for the Charlottesville clerk of circuit court.

The forum will take place at the main branch of the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. It's a chance for citizens to learn more about what the clerk of court does and to meet the three candidates in the election.

Paul Garrett is the current clerk of court and has held the position for more than 30 years. The clerk is elected to an eight-year term.

He is being challenged by Llezelle Dugger, a member of the Charlottesville School Board, and Pam Melampy, a clerk in the Albemarle County Circuit Court system.

The moderator will be local attorney Lloyd Snook.
