Dumler Loses Support of Police Association

April 23, 2013

Albemarle County Supervisor Christopher Dumler is continuing to lose support.

On Tuesday, The Central Virginia Chapter of the Police Benevolent Association released a letter expressing their disappointment over his conviction of misdemeanor sexual battery.

The letter stated, "While the Central Virginia Chapter supported Mr. Dumler's platform when he originally ran for public office, we will no longer give him our support."

They go on to say, "As an organization whose members respond to and defend victims of crime, it is deeply troubling to us that Mr. Dumler continues to serve as a public representative for Albemarle County."

The Scottsville representative refuses to resign his position, despite calls to do so from citizens and from his fellow board members.
