Gov. McDonnell's Approval Rating Down

May 15, 2013

A new Quinnipiac University poll shows Governor Bob McDonnell’s job approval dipping to its lowest point in two years.

The poll shows 49 percent of Virginians approved of his performance, down from 53 percent earlier this year. McDonnell's approval peaked at 62 percent in October 2011.

Voters seemed to be little swayed by McDonnell’s ties to Star Scientific CEO Jonnie Williams. Twelve percent felt it's a big deal, 44 percent say it's "just politics," and 42 percent hadn't heard enough about it.
