RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Former first lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is coming to Virginia this weekend to endorse an old family confidante and political ally, Terry McAuliffe.
She will appear in Falls Church at the State Theater on Saturday in an event aimed at maximizing support among women for McAuliffe. Also on the stage with her will be McAuliffe's wife, Dorothy McAuliffe, and state Democratic Party chair Charnielle Herring.
Clinton is an early favorite for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination should she decide to run.
Independent polling shows a wide advantage for McAuliffe among female voters over Republican Ken Cuccinelli, who has supported abortion restrictions in Virginia's Senate and as attorney general the past four years.
