Fifth District Republican candidate, Robert Hurt, stopped by the Albemarle County GOP headquarters Thursday morning to meet with volunteers and rally support in Charlottesville.
Volunteers spent Thursday making phone calls to potential voters, seeking their support as the State Senator from Chatham hits the streets to meet with Fifth District residents one-on-one.
In the final days leading up the election, Hurt says he has a plan to motivate his supporters to get to the polls.
"I think this is going to be a close race. So we need to work harder than ever to make sure that people are voting, and that our side is out there working. I think if we do that, we'll see victory on election day," said Hurt.
Hurt will spend Thursday night in Nelson County. He'll then be making campaign stops in the southern part of the Fifth District on Friday.
