With just 19 days until the November Midterm Elections, 5th District Congressional candidate Robert Hurt met with supporters at Keswick Thursday afternoon.

The State Senator from Chatham, and challenger to incumbent Tom Perriello, was the keynote speaker for the Albemarle-Charlottesville Republican Women's League Luncheon. He was introduced Thursday by First Lady of Virginia, Maureen McDonnell.

Hurt and Perriello met face-to-face for the first time Wednesday night for a debate in Roanoke.

"I thought it was a good debate. I thought it was a good glimpse into the vast differences between the two campaigns that are before the people of the 5th District. Congressman Perriello, I was interested to hear him talk about the importance of a balanced budget. This is coming from a Congressman who left congress, just recently, without a budget for the United States," said Senator Hurt.

Next up for Hurt and Perriello is the Charlottesville debate on October 19 at Piedmont Virginia Community College.
