McAuliffe Touts Green Business at UVa

April 10, 2013

The Democratic nominee for Virginia governor visited a class at the University of Virginia on Wednesday to talk politics.

Terry McAuliffe spoke with students about the importance of green technology, and the need to develop green businesses.

He also addressed his resignation as the chair of GreenTech several months ago.

"When I decided to run for governor in mid-November, I took care of all my business affairs and said I'm going 100 percent, full-time running for governor," said McAuliffe. "You can't do anything else and run for governor. If you look at my schedule, I'm out seven days a week. We are out from when the sun comes up until well after the sun goes down. It's a full time job."

McAuliffe's comments are a dig at his Republican opponent, Ken Cuccinelli, who has stayed on as Virginia Attorney General while he's running for governor.

When McAuliffe was asked about recent news that GreenTech is delinquent on taxes, he said he didn't know anything about it.
