Gov. Bob McDonnell stopped to thank supporters in Albemarle County Saturday at the local GOP's victory office. He also rallied voter support for the Republican presidential nominee, Mitt Romney.
McDonnell said that winning Virginia in the presidential race will be very important for Romney. He said America needs a "change agent" in the White House, accusing President Barack Obama of not delivering on his promises.
"I would say Mitt Romney's got to win, and I think there's a great pathway to him winning. I see the enthusiasm is better, the fundraising is superior. There's an incredible grassroots effort of phone calls and door knocks," McDonnell said.
McDonnell, who has twin sons at the University of Virginia, said the youth vote is going to be crucial this November. He said he'd like to see more energy and enthusiasm from college students.
