New Poll Shows Hurt with 8 Point Advantage

One day before President Obama rallies voters in Charlottesville, a new Fifth District poll from Survey USA and WDBJ in Roanoke shows just how much ground Tom Perriello has to make up on Republican challenger Robert Hurt.

The poll shows Hurt with an 8-point lead on Perriello. Independent candidate Jeff Clark was a distant third with only 2% of the vote, while another 4% remain undecided.

According to the poll, Hurt has strong support from men and voters who identified themselves as independent, while Perriello has a slight advantage among women.

Tom Perriello (D) - 43%

Jeffrey Clark (I) - 2%

Undecided - 4%
