Almost 150 people packed inside the new Obama Campaign Office in Fluvanna County. It's one of the six new locations opening across the commonwealth on Saturday.
Fluvanna County is small in numbers compared to others, but Obama supporters say that doesn't matter.
"Every vote counts, and just like I told the people here today, Democrats believe in campaigning person to person," local activist Linda Perriello said.
Obama supporters know how important voting numbers are, especially in the swing state of Virginia. Republican Sen. John McCain beat Barack Obama in Fluvanna County 50 percent to 49 percent in 2008.
"I think they were so smart to open a campaign headquarters in Fluvanna. Every single vote is going to count," Obama supporter Marilyn Kozack said.
The president is no stranger to Virginia. He visited the battleground earlier this week.
"I think that when people listen to the issues and listen to the candidates now during the debate and in the next few months, they are going to make decision that president Obama is the best person for the job," Kozack said.
Supporters are hoping to get as many people registered as possible. They're hoping to keep the president in office for four more years.
