Mark Obenshain will formally request a recount in the historically close attorney general’s race Wednesday morning.
The State Board of Elections certified the race on Monday, declaring Democrat Mark Herring the winner.
Only 165 votes separate Obenshain and Herring. Both men have announced transition teams.
A recount would be at taxpayer expense because the margin between the two is less than one-half of 1 percent.
