Perriello Campaign Announces $810K Raised

October 12, 2010

The Tom Perriello campaign announced Tuesday afternoon that it has over $1.3 million cash on hand heading into the final weeks of the campaign, having raised over $810,000 in the third fundraising quarter.

Officials say the campaign has more than 18,000 donors and 90% of contributions this quarter came from individuals, without taking a single dollar from federal lobbyists and corporate PACs.

"Tom Perriello has received a huge outpouring of support from thousands of working families in Virginia. Powerful special interests like the health insurance companies and oil billionaires are working desperately to get Robert Hurt in Congress because they know he will be a rubber stamp for their agenda. Our grassroots funding base is helping us fight back," said Jessica Barba, spokeswoman for the Perriello campaign.

Recent polls have shown either a dead heat or Hurt with a slight advantage.
