U.S. Senate candidate and former Governor George Allen made a stop at Barracks Road Shopping Center Wednesday.
While there, he visited The Virginia Shop to check on how local businesses are doing in this down economy. The Newsplex was able to speak with him and he shared his ideas on how to bring jobs back to America.
"What we need to do is re-invigorate the entrepreneurial spirit. You have to have the right economic policies, regulations need to be light not burdensome. We need to unleash our American energy resources for jobs, affordable energy as well keeping money here in the USA," said the Republican.
Allen also talked about President Obama's visit to Virginia. He says the President should listen to people's concerns about the job market and the economy. Allen also shared said what he thought about the Republican Presidential candidates.
"I would like to see our Republican candidates remember Reagan's 11th Commandment and not speak ill of fellow Republicans. There can be difference in ideas and initiatives and so forth, but I don't like seeing personal attacks," he said.
George Allen is running against former Governor Tim Kaine.
