A Charlottesville city council candidate with a green mind received a big boost in the form of an endorsement.

The Sierra Club has announced it's endorsing independent city council candidate Bob Fenwick in the November election. In a press release, the club said Fenwick has worked to preserve McIntire Park, has advocated for a sustainable water supply plan and has led the efforts to restore the Rock Hill gardens off the Route 250 bypass.

Fenwick is one of eight candidates running for three seats on Charlottesville city council.
