The University of Virginia Center for Politics is hosting their 15th Annual American Democracy Conference.
This year's event features three panels , one on the November elections and their effect on Virginia ; The second is on the upcoming 2014 midterm elections and the 2016 presidential race ; And the third is on long-term trends in American politics.
They say it's all about starting a conversation about politics.
"We just want to provide what we think is good educational content for people to sort of talk about what's going on in politics, and what's important and what people can look for," Kyle Kondik of the Center for Politics said.
The center is also handing out free copies of its Emmy-winning documentary "Out of Order."
