The Virginia House of Delegates gets back together for the veto session this Wednesday, April 3.

That's when delegates get to see what changes Gov. Bob McDonnel has made to the bills they've passed and also to see what he has vetoed.

House Minority Leader Del. David Toscano (D-57th District) says the two biggest issues they'll be working on again are transportation and the expansion of Medicaid.

"The governor made 100 technical amendments to the transportation bill and changed some of the taxes to reduce the size of the total package, but a lot of us still believe that package is still good for Virginia," Toscano said. "It doesn't raise as much money as we wanted to, but it still raises enough to provide for maintenance, construction and for transit and rail initiatives which a lot of people think are important."

Toscano also says he's believed that Medicaid expansion is good for Virginia.

"It creates 30,000 jobs, it brings billions of dollars back into the state that would otherwise go to Connecticut or New York, and it insures 300,000 Virginians that otherwise would have hospitals pay for their care when they go to the emergency room," he said.

The House of Delegates will reconvene on Wednesday at noon.
