While the candidates are making a final push for votes, the City of Charlottesville is checking to make sure its voting machines are ready for Election Day.
Thursday, crews ran logic and accuracy tests on the paper ballot and electronic ballot machines. Each tester was given a script and asked to vote according to that script. If the machines returned results that matched the scripts, they were deemed ready for Tuesday.
Officials say all of the tests were successful.
"We've tested the paper ballot machine and we've tested the electronic machine, so everything is ready. Everything in this room will be locked down and secured," said Charlottesville Registrar Sheri Iachetta.
The machines will be locked until Election Day. On the morning of Nov. 8, crews take the voting machines to their respective precincts and unlock the cages.
