Two days after Senator Jim Webb announced his retirement and decision no to seek re-election in 2012, no Democrat has stepped forward to run for his seat in the United States Senate.
Although, Mark Warner has his hopes set on someone. The fellow Virginia Senator said Friday while speaking at Botetourt Technical Education Center that he wants former Virginia Governor Tim Kaine to run.
"I've talked to Tim. I think he'll probably make some decisions over the next few days," said Sen. Warner.
Warner said a Senate run was not on Kaine's plan. If Kaine decides to not run, Warner said Democrats will still field a strong candidate, though he declined to say who's on his short list.
