Charlottesville City Councilor Kristin Szakos said Monday she would like to serve next year with Satyendra Huja and Kathy Galvin on the Council.
All three are Democrats and the party's "Firehouse Primary" is Saturday. There are three open seats on Council with Huja running for re-election and Galvin hoping to make the move from the Charlottesville School Board to City Hall.
Szakos said she was only endorsing two candidates because they "rise above the rest".
"I think for both of them it's about a combination of their breath of expertise and experience and also their commitment to a broad range of residents and businesses in the city. I think those are both really important thing," the Councilor said.
Szakos saluted Huja for what she called his devotion to public transit and the arts.
She said of Galvin: "Her areas of expertise in education, planning and smart neighborhood development are what we need to close the gaps in opportunity that have long held back our city and its economic vitality."
