Albemarle Co. School Board to Discuss Budget Gap

April 24, 2014

The Albemarle County School Board is having another budget meeting Thursday, this time with public comment.

The work session will continue to address the $3.9 million funding gap the county schools are facing.

The board decided at a previous meeting to increase class sizes, depending on grade and level, but that decision has not yet been finalized. They are also considering giving teachers and staff smaller pay increases, cutting some programs and using textbooks for longer periods of time.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Albemarle County Office Building.
